Toyota 4Runner Upgrades For 2011

The Toyota 4Runner is one of Toyota’s midsize SUVs. It is a great family vehicle as well as great for those wanting to tackle some rough terrain. The Toyota 4Runner is one durable and dependable SUV. The 2011 4Runner gets 17 miles per gallon in the city and 23 miles per gallon on the highway. It is available in either rear- or all-wheel drive and is offered in 3 different trims: SR5, Trail or Limited.
For 2011 Toyota has dropped the 4-cylinder engine as an option and now all Toyota 4Runners come standard with a more powerful 6-cylinder engine.
The SR5 trim is available as either a rear- or four-wheel drive. Standard features include 17-inch alloy wheels, skid plates, fog lights, cruise control, full power accessories with a power rear window and programmable auto door lock logic, a tilt-and-telescoping steering wheel, a trip computer and an audio system with a CD player and MP3 audio hook-up.
The Trail trim is available only in four-wheel drive. Some additional features from the SR5 trim include locking rear differential, Crawl Control (which electronically modulates throttle and brake when ascending or descending hills), off-road oriented tires, a backup camera that displays in the rearview mirror, CFC-free climate control with rear ventilation and air filter, water-resistant upholstery, a sliding rear cargo deck and an upgraded audio system with satellite radio, USB port compatible with an iPod and Bluetooth® capabilities.
The most luxury trim, the Limited, is offered in either two- or four-wheel drove both with a 270-hp 4.0 liter V6 engine. This trim comes standard with 20-inch alloy wheels, a sport enhanced suspension, keyless entry and ignition, automatic headlights, dual-zone automatic climate control, leather upholstery, heated front seats and an upgraded 15-speaker audio system with a six-disc CD changer, satellite radio, an iPod-compatible USB port and Bluetooth® capabilities.
On the SR5 trim Toyota offers a Convenience Package and a Premium Package that includes some of the features of the Limited trim as well as a power moonroof and power outlets.
There are many standard safety features on all of the Toyota 4Runner trim levels including Toyota’s Star Safety System which includes Vehicle Stability Control, Traction Control, and an Anti-Lock Brake System with electric brake-force distribution and Brake Assist. An advanced airbag system with driver and front-passenger front seat-mounted side air bags and two-or three-row roll-sensing side curtain airbags is another standard feature on all trim levels. Other additional standard features include a tire pressure monitoring system, 3-point seatbelts in all seating positions with Emergency Locking Retractor feature and side-impact door beams.
The 2010 4Runner was named Four Wheeler of the year by Four Wheeler Magazine, the Most Accessory Friendly SUV by Specialty Equipment Market Association and Vincentric’s Best Value in America having the “lowest cost of ownership in its class.” Also recognized in 2010, the Toyota 4Runner is one of the most durable vehicles out there, there are “more 4Runners are still on the road today than any other mid-size SUV.” It’s no surprise that the 2011 Toyota 4Runner is a great SUV; especially for those who enjoy a little bit of off-roading. Around town the 4Runner drives smooth and comfortably; but when you take it off-road the 4Runner performs excellently. This SUV is meant for those who enjoy a little adventure.
